Good Looks, Great Attitude – Meet Beauty Queen Fallon Robinson

Aberdare beauty queen, Fallon Robinson is flying out to the States tomorrow to represent Wales in the Galaxy International Pageant in Orlando, Florida. Despite the huge accolade, the down to earth beauty still has her feet on the ground as she explains, “When I started modelling Mum made me promise two things; not to become obsessive about my weight and that I had to realise that I wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea so be prepared not to be placed or liked. My first competition was Galaxy Pageants UK where I came 2nd runner up, then I won Miss Spirit of True Beauty. I did a few others and was always in the top two and was crowned Miss Teen Galaxy Wales earlier this year.”

As well as being comfortable on stage, the bubbly brunette also knows her way around a stable. “I have ridden since the age of 3, and competed my horses at both local and national level successfully. It is very hard work, and so different to all the glamour of pageants, but I love the horses and still muck out and look after them every day. We also have 3 Welsh Terriers, which I help my mum walk but mostly cuddle.”

“Mum and Dad have always been really supportive of everything I’ve done. When we moved to the farm in LLwydcoed my parents spent 12 months clearing the land, it involved a lot of chopping down small trees and bushes, and burning it all, we used to have huge fires late into the evening and me and my brothers would cook jacket potatoes.. My Nan is a passionate gardener and grows her own veg in the back garden, vegetables are my favourite food and I adore a Sunday dinner, nothing quite like Nan’s cooked dinner fresh from the garden, I think it is all the well rotted manure we give her! Mum seems to have a thing about roses and grows them everywhere in our garden. They are my favourite flowers but than what girl doesn’t appreciate a bouquet of roses?”

Having just turned 17 years of age, Fallon is already making her mark in Wales as an Ambassador for The Diamond Centre of Wales and the Face of Welsh Cream for the Proper Welsh Company. She has also helped raise funds for Help the Heroes, Hope Dog Rescue and Velindre Hospital and adds, “I’ve even helped out at a Gardening Quiz for the Old Railway Line, near Brecon.”

“I have always been active and am lucky enough to have found a fabulous personal trainer, Simon Vincent of Cycle Performance Training. I train with him 3 times a week and feel full of energy and super fit. He calls me ‘super freak’ as I can leg press 400kg, dead lift 70kg, bench press 50kg, etc. – and I only weigh 50 kgs.”

“When I come back from America I am going to learn to drive and finish my course in sign language. I think it should be taught to everyone just as we have to learn maths and English.”
