Howard Marks to light Olympic Cauldron

Whilst contributing to Radio Wales's Phone-in programme with Mai Davies today,  I was asked who I thought should light the Olympic Cauldron tonight. Other guests suggested Sir Steve Redgrave and Sebastian Coe and listeners rang in suggesting  'an unknown teenager', Leigh Halfpenny and even Ronald MacDonald but my own choice would be Welshman Howard Marks; after all, can you think of anyone who has more experience of lighting up in public amid a huge amount of controversy?
