Animal communicator Michelle Childerley describes her work as an intuitive language between animals and humans adding animals love to communicate with us. She explains, “More and more people are opening up to this type of work, they seem to have more insight now. I come from a family of palm readers and tea leaf readers and when I used to talk to my dog Jason as a child, my parents were encouraging. It seemed odd to a lot of people but I used to hear Jason say specific things about people I didn’t even know, so couldn’t just make them up. Sadly my parents divorced when I was 12 and Jason went to live with my Dad. I didn’t even get to say goodbye to him and was heartbroken, so I closed off the intuitive awareness.”
Later in life and after having her son Jake, Michelle decided to return to work but wanted to do something she loved. “I have always been fascinated by different energies and holistic therapies so I re-trained in Reiki, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and the Balance Procedure. I noticed I started to hear messages from animals again, especially the dogs with the Big Issue sellers. My Mum reminded me about my conversations with Jason and it all came back to me. I did some research into animal communication, met with a well known animal communicator in London and it all made sense.”
Having also worked on TV, written a book and released a DVD, Michelle’s work is varied, “I also do a lot of readings telepathically for owners who are concerned about their pets. Most are worried about behavioural problems but some owners just want to know if their animals are happy and what they’re thinking.
Nature is important to me. My house has been built around the garden, rather than the garden being created around the house. It’s an L shaped bungalow which wraps itself around a lawn and little woodland and there is a little elevated glass room in the crook of the L which looks over the whole garden.
“I prefer to work outdoors and often go to a little hidden field close to my house to connect with the animals I am communicating with and do the readings. I get a great connection outdoors and it’s so grounding. I have to change frequency to tune into the animal; humans use beta frequency but animals use alpha waves, so I have to clear my mind to get to that alpha state; nature is perfect for that. Having completed a documentary about Paul the Octopus, Michelle is currently working on a film in the States, called White Buffalo: An American Prophecy and a new series for Simon Cowell’s production company, called Pet Sense. “I’m so lucky to be doing something I love so much. I believe we all have paths to follow and if you follow your passion you’ll definitely be on the right path.”
